DStv Repairs & Signal Fault Fixes in Pretoria & Centurion

Signal restoration is the call we take most often during trading hours. Faulty LNBs, water in the connectors, a dish nudged by wind or a builder, corroded coax and dying decoder power supplies all show up as the same blank screen — the difference is the diagnosis.

The faults we fix most

E48-32 and E30 point at a signal path problem — a failed LNB, water ingress at the F-connector, or a dish knocked off peak. E143 is usually subscription or decoder-side and often clears with a rescan or re-authorisation. Pixelation only in rain means the dish is sitting on marginal signal quality and needs re-peaking, not a new decoder.

Every call-out starts with a meter on the line so we replace the part that actually failed. That keeps costs honest and stops the same fault returning three weeks later.

Storm, lightning and tree damage

Pretoria and Centurion summer storms account for most of our emergency work: dishes rotated by wind, LNBs flooded, coax stripped by hail and decoders taken out by surges. Vans carry LNBs, brackets, coax, connectors, wall plates and swap-out decoders so a same-day call-out finishes in one visit.

Mature jacaranda and gum canopies in the older suburbs grow into the line of sight over a season. Where trimming isn't an option we relocate the dish higher on a gable or a pole mount to restore a permanent clear path.

Common questions

My DStv says E48-32 — what does that mean?

It means the decoder is not seeing usable satellite signal. Common causes are a failed LNB, water in a connector, a dish knocked out of alignment or damaged coax. We meter the line to find which one before replacing anything.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

Pricing, including same-day rates, is confirmed on the phone before we dispatch. Phone or WhatsApp 084 248 6172 with your suburb and the fault for a straight quote.
